Technologies Used at Our Dental Clinic
At Caledon East Dentistry, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run smoothly.
We believe that our treatment room digital X-ray displays allow our patients to become more engaged in their dental treatment by allowing us to point out specific oral health concerns and walk through the recommended treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with efficient, effective care in a calm, friendly environment. Our dental technology helps us to achieve this end.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film to create an image of the inner structures of the mouth. This technology produces highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays provide your dentist with the ability to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures which can be helpful in planning treatments such as dentures, braces, extractions, dental implant placements and more.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners can be used to create digital dental impressions. These detailed scans can be an ideal alternative to traditional dental impressions that many patients find messy and time-consuming.
Your dentist simply uses an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth within minutes. This device allows your dentist to capture accurate data to create digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.
